Literacy - Visual prompts - Remembrance

Today in literacy I was told to write a piece of writing based off of a picture (or just for inspiration)

My goals are to entertain and give the reader a vivid vision of being there personally, like in a 3D motion. Let me know in the comments if I've achieved my goals.

This is what I came up with:

It was a dull grey day, but the poppies were a sharp, vivid red. The memories collided in his faithless mind, too many soldiers dead. They sacrificed they’re mortal lives to save their country, and had a victorious death soon after…

Maybe it all happened for a good reason, he thought trying to lighten up his brain. But it surely wasn’t that good, the soldiers never had a choice to join the war or not. They were forced into it at young dreadful ages, whether they like it or not. Many wanted to escape, but there was no choice… they had to save their country, they were its only choice and saviour.

He lay there in the memorial poppy field, staring at the fading sky. He gripped on to the nearest poppies and a tear made its way down from his eye, landing on his soft surroundings.

Area of a triangle

On Friday last week, I learnt how to figure out an area of a triangle.
This is the formula:

Area = 1/2 b x h
(Half of base x height)

Area of Triangles < ---- Example
(1/2 x 20 x 12)
= 10 x 6m
= 60m

Maths- Finding an Area of a Circle

For the past week I've been learning how to find an area of a circle. To find the area of a circle you have to multiply the radius measurement twice by pi which is 3.14 (which is the short number for pi)

For example:
Area Of A Circle | Formula For Radius, Diameter, & Circumference

A = π x r x r

(3.14 x 7m x 7m)

= 153.9 sq m

Girls Group

Today in Girls Group, I learnt about fighting hate with love, and having more variety of words to express my feelings. Girls Group is a group for girls to get along, and make new friends. Every Wednesday we all meet up and do fun activities together. This Wednesday we scrambled up a bunch of different cards that had pictures of animals on it.

Each of us had to pick a card that describes how our weekend and current mood is/was based off of the animals, like If I felt "energetic" I would choose a cheetah. I picked a hermit crab because, I stayed in my house for the whole weekend. After that activity, we got shown a 'blob' and had to come up with things that the 'blob' looked similar like. It was an activity to expand our creativity.

Maths-Measuring Diameter of a Circle

Today in maths we measured how many foot lengths it would take to measure a diameter of a large-sized circle, we knew about this because of last weeks work. The formula looks like this:
C = π x D
(3.14 x foot length answer)

I got 14 foot lengths since my foot is a little small

Maths-Volume

Today in maths we learnt the volume of a cube. The answer will have a little 3 above the last digit showing cubic measurement not just metres. I didn't get it at first, but I slowly understood the formula and procedure of how to work it out.

It should look something like this:
What is 1 cubic meter? - Quora

V = L x W x H = 1m3

(1m x 1m x 1m = 1m3)

You have to multiply all the 3 sides together, if it's a 3D cube.
