The Hectors Dolphin

  • Hector's dolphins

  •  Did you know? That hector's dolphins can dive in the water for 2 mins how amazing right?!
  • When you meet a hector's dolphin you must not chase or yell at them and please don't try catching hector's dolphins we want them to be safe in our  environment :D

  •  Since Hector's dolphins are friendly they would swim towards boats. Hector's dolphins are very rare and they are only found in the nz waters also, you can only find them near the shore. What an amazing dolphin right? Well did you also know that they can grow up to 1.5 m. if you ever come across a beautiful hector's dolphin only approach them politely since they are rare, delicate and endangered. what makes them special is their cute little rounded fin it kinda looks like a mickey mouse fin. Last but no least...they are the smallest dolphin species in the world! And they shimmer in the sparkling water showing off their black grey and white colours ;)

  2. Hello Jessica! My name is Cleo, and I go to St. Francis of Assisi school! I didn’t know Hector’s Dolphins can hold their breath for two whole minutes! I really admire the Hector’s Dolphins, they are so amazing! I totally agree that we should keep them safe! it’s not cool how people hunt dolphins and sea life. I went swimming with Hector’s Dolphins, and it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Your punctuation is very good, and the facts are extremely useful! Maybe next time you could say the dolphin’s preferred water temperature, or something along those lines. Have you ever been swimming with these amazing creatures? Click on my name, and you can read my blog!

  3. Hi Jessica,
Andrea here from Parkview School. Wow, I love this because of how much amazing information you put in as well as how you chose to word your work. I like it because it is fun to read and not just plain old information. The facts you have used are really good. I like how you included in your information that if you see one you need to be quiet and make it feel welcome. Do not get me wrong I love the rainbow title I was just wondering if you intentionally bullet pointed it. I love dolphins an it seems you do too! What is your favourite kind of dolphin? My favourite kind of dolphin is the bottlenose dolphin.
    Thanks, Andrea
